The Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai recently participated in the 10th edition of Beat Diabetes Walk at Zabeel Park, organised by the Landmark Group. Over 18,000 people completed the 3-km walk around the park to raise awareness about the need for healthy living at this year’s event. The walk was held with the support of the Dubai Sports Council, Emirates Diabetes Society (EDS), the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dubai Municipality, Roads and Transport Authority and the Dubai Police.
Mr. Simon Moore, General Manager of Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai, said: “Beat Diabetes Walk is a remarkable initiative to increase public awareness about the causes and possible prevention of diabetes by adopting a healthy life style. As part of our Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, we are glad to support campaigns such as these that help people to understand how proactive measures can lead them to overcome and manage the illness. This year, 37 volunteers from our team took part in the event.”
Diabetes is a major health concern across the world, affecting millions of people. A major highlight at this year’s walkathon was a strong participation by students.
