Picodi.com’s research has revealed that Dubai public transport fares are among the cheapest in the world, with a monthly pass costing AED350, which is only 2.3% of the average net wage in the UAE. Compared to other cities, London, Zurich, and Oslo have the most expensive monthly passes. Dubai ranks among the top 10 cities with the most affordable public transport, with cities such as Sao Paolo, Istanbul, London, Melbourne, Toronto, and Paris ranking higher.
Three cities, including Luxembourg, Tallinn, and Valletta, offer completely free public transport for citizens. London, Melbourne, and Dublin have the highest prices for monthly passes, while Dubai’s monthly pass costs only $95. The study excluded cities with multiple public transport providers and those without a monthly pass option.
