The state-run news agency SPA has reported that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is set to introduce luxury train tours in the near future. Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Italy’s Arsenale Group to launch the first-ever luxury train in the Middle East region, which will operate in the Kingdom.
The CEO of SAR, Bashar bin Khaled Al-Malik, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arsenale Group, Paolo Barletta, signed the MoU. The luxury train, known as the Dream of the Desert train tour, is scheduled to commence operations in 2025 and will transport high-end travelers in style from Riyadh to Qurayyat.
This initiative aligns with SAR’s commitment to promoting tourism and cultural affairs in the Kingdom and seeks to advance national tourism goals. The luxury train will offer a distinctive opportunity for tourists and locals to explore a range of tourist destinations with a comprehensive framework of integrated luxury transportation services.
