Dubai Police signs MoUs with banks and financial institutions to tackle economic crimes

Dubai Police’s General Department of Criminal Investigation has entered into Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with ten banks and financial institutions to enhance the security system and collaborate with partners in investigating and predicting future economic crimes. The primary objective of the MoUs is to promote cooperation and expertise exchange among the parties on areas of mutual interest. Major General Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of the General Department of Criminal, explained that this collaboration aims to create predictive frameworks to achieve the objectives of all parties in enhancing performance levels and preventive planning, in line with global economic, criminal, and technological changes. In light of these developments, Al Jallaf emphasized the need to implement proactive measures capable of strongly contributing to the development of the security system. He also noted that the General Department of Criminal Investigation creates strategic plans based on global changes and anticipates the future of security work to confront various types of crimes, including economic crimes.

 Finally, the Police senior figure highlighted that financial crimes pose challenges in fraudulent methods due to the increased reliance of countries and individuals on technology in personal and professional practices, and the Police stay current with fraud trends to ensure that Dubai remains the safest city in the world.
