Dubai Endowment, a foundation established to support charitable causes, has launched a new project called the ‘Well of Water’ aimed at providing clean water to disadvantaged communities across the world. The project involves four residential villas built on 19,880 square feet of land in Dubai’s Al Rashidiya area, with an estimated value of Dhs9m. The annual returns are expected to be around 10% of the project value and will be dedicated to implementing sustainable projects that provide water to communities suffering from water scarcity and pollution. This initiative is the second endowment project by Dubai Endowment dedicated to supporting the ‘Well of Hope’ campaign, which was launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The campaign aims to provide clean water to disadvantaged communities worldwide.
The Dubai Endowment Foundation’s commitment to supporting this initiative is inspired by Sheikh Mohammed’s values of giving and solidarity. Since 2019, the revenue generated from endowments has provided drinkable water to 600,000 people worldwide annually, particularly in areas lacking sources of clean and safe water.
