Swiss-Belhotel International Appoints General Manager for Swiss-Belresidences Juffair

Bahrain – Swiss-Belhotel International has appointed Duco E. de Vries as the General Manager for Swiss-Belresidences Juffair in Bahrain. Duco brings outstanding international hospitality leadership experience spanning more than three decades across Europe, USA, Asia and the GCC.

Making the announcement, Laurent A. Voivenel, Senior Vice President, Operations and Development for the Middle East, Africa and India, Swiss-Belhotel International, said, “We are pleased to appoint Duco to lead the team at Swiss-Belresidences Juffair in Bahrain. Duco has exceptional experience and expertise in the hospitality sector as well as extensive knowledge of international and the GCC market. A Dutch national, Duco is a graduate in International Hospitality Management from the prestigious IHTTI International Hotel & Tourism Training Institutes, Switzerland. He also holds numerous other professional certifications and diplomas in hotel management and operations.

Duco took his first steps in the hospitality industry in 1989 working in the food and beverage department at Savoy Baur en Ville, Zurich in Switzerland. He then progressively worked his way up working across some fabulous hotels in various parts of Europe as well as the USA.

In 2006 Duco moved to Dubai joining the Arabian Park Hotel, Wafi Hospitality. His first posting in the GCC as the pre-opening General Manager was at the Holiday Inn Express Jumeirah in the UAE in 2008. Subsequently he worked in Oman, Egypt and again UAE taking up top positions with some leading hospitality brands.

In 2017 Duco was appointed as General Manager of Grand Swiss-Belhotel Medan, North Sumatra in Indonesia in 2017. His most recent posting prior to joining the Swiss-Belresidences Juffair in Bahrain, was as General Manager at Impiana Resort Chaweng Noi, Koh Samui in Thailand.

Swiss-Belresidences Juffair in Bahrain is 4-star hotel features 129 well-appointed one, two- and three-bedroom apartments equipped with outstanding facilities and one of the most spacious and comfortable addresses in the city.

All units come with a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, fridge, and microwave, as well as separate dining areas. Other features include a king size or twin beds, complimentary Wi-Fi, home entertainment system and 55” LCD TV with a wide variety of cable channels.
