Emirates provides special Ramadan service for customers observing the holy month

Emirates will commence its signature Ramadan service for customers during the holy month, expected to begin on May 17th. Emirates’ Ramadan service consists of specially crafted iftar meals on board, relevant programming on its ice inflight entertainment system, and the distribution of dates and water on the ground for those breaking their fast.

Emirates provides iftar boxes with a nutritional meal for customers breaking their fast on board. The boxes have been redesigned this year by local homeware specialists Silsal Design House. The designs are inspired by the Middle East, its people, places and culture. Silsal has also created bespoke Emirates Arabic Coffee Cups available at the Emirates Official Stores. The iftar boxes provide a nutritious meal for customers to break their fast and includes couscous salad & grilled chicken or moudardara & roasted chicken, sandwiches, spinach fatayer or tomato and onion fatayer, assorted sweets, dates, laban and water. The boxes have been designed for customers to take away if they wish. The menus will be refreshed mid-Ramadan. These special meals will be available to passengers across all cabin classes on select Emirates flights that coincide with iftar times. This includes flights to and from the Gulf region as well as flights catering to Umrah groups travelling to Jeddah and Medina during the month of Ramadan. During the holy month, cold meals will be served in lieu of a hot one on all flights to Jeddah and Medina, including Umrah day flights. Emirates utilises a unique tool to calculate the correct timings for imsak (the time to commence fasting) and iftar while in-flight. It calculates the exact Ramadan timings using the aircraft’s longitude, latitude and altitude; ensuring the greatest level of accuracy possible while on board. When the sun sets, passengers will be informed of the iftar time by the captain. This tool was developed to supplement the Ramadan timetable, available on every flight. Date boxes, symbolic of Ramadan, and water will also be provided at boarding gates allowing customers to break their fast prior to boarding, or while boarding at Emirates’ hub in Dubai International Airport Terminal 3 and other selected Emirates destinations. Emirates lounges in the airport provide dedicated prayer rooms and will also be serving Arabic coffee, dates and sweets. Emirates’ award-winning ice system features special religious programming including A’aelat Ramadan Kareem, Fa Esalo ahil il thekir and Al Baqeyat Al Salehat, as well as Ramadan entertainment such as Bou Tbei, As-hab Al Hemam and Hayat Thaneya. The special Ramadan programmes are part of the diverse content available on board with up to 3,500 channels of on demand entertainment including 238 Arabic channels featuring movies, TV, music and audio. Eid festivities kick off on board For the first time, Emirates is extending its special service to celebrate Eid with customers on board. Those looking to do some shopping in time for Eid can enjoy a 20% discount for onboard duty free purchases over US $95 from 11 to 15 June. From 14 to 17 June, customers can look forward to sweet treats on select flights. In Economy Class, customers will be served Eid cookies, while in First and Business Class, customers will receive a box of chocolates. In addition, First Class customers can enjoy a special Eid edition of the Lakrids candy. Lakrids Crispy Rose flavoured liquorice will be offered on all regions during Ramadan and Eid. As a global airline, Emirates has been delighting customers’ palates with regionally-inspired cuisine, and special seasonal menus for widely celebrated events like Chinese New Year, Christmas, Diwali, and Ramadan. Etihad hosts annual Procurement and Supply Management Symposium in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Etihad Aviation Group’s Procurement and Supply Management team has held its annual “Collaborating for Sustainability “Symposium. 
Attended by more than 500 representatives from local and international companies, the symposium aims to enhance further Etihad’s partnership and collaboration with its vendors. The event included presentations from Etihad executives as well as a workshop about the group’s new procurement policies and procedures. Forthcoming business opportunities were also provided to delegates. Adil Al-Mulla, Vice President Group Procurement and Supply Management, Etihad Aviation Group, said: “Our supplier development strategy continue to support the global Etihad business and build strong business relationships in the UAE, around the MENA region, and across the globe.” Mr Al Mulla also gave an overview of the group’s procurement policy and practices and reliance on transparency, integrity, accountability and strong governance. ADNOC and Ravago Group Explore Collaboration Opportunities at Ruwais Industrial Complex

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) today announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ravago Group (Ravago), a leading service solutions provider in the global polymers and chemicals market, to explore opportunities for cooperation at the Ruwais Industrial Complex in the UAE. As part of ADNOC’s efforts to maximize value across its value chain, Ravago and ADNOC will explore ways to upgrade and commercialize the non-prime product generated at Borouge, the joint venture between ADNOC and Austria-based Borealis. This process, known as compounding, would take place at the proposed facility, situated in the Ruwais Industrial Complex. Ravago’s manufacturing segment, operates 24 plants across 4 continents, producing plastics, rubbers and chemicals, serving the automotive, electronics, and building and construction industries through the company’s global distribution network. Both companies will also explore potential collaboration opportunities leveraging Ravago’s strengths across multiple areas to further unlock value within the petrochemical chain. Mr. Abdulaziz Abdulla Alhajri, Director, Downstream Directorate, ADNOC, said: “ADNOC seeks to create partnerships with those who can bring additional value to our hydrocarbon resources, our downstream assets and the UAE economy at large. ADNOC aims to further develop and expand Ruwais into the world’s largest integrated refining and petrochemicals complex, that will also include a large-scale, integrated manufacturing ecosystem, through the creation of new petrochemicals derivatives and conversion parks. The agreement was signed at ADNOC’s Downstream Investment Forum, where ADNOC revealed plans to significantly enhance and expand its downstream operations in support of its ambition to become a leading global downstream player.

Injazat and MDC Business Management Services launch Strategic Partnership “TARABOT”, to build Abu Dhabi based Hybrid Cloud platform for Mubadala Group

The strategic partnership program “TARABOT” will enhance organizational synergy and propel digital transformation journey, providing benefits to MDC-BMS’ and its clients and the entire Mubadala Group.
Abu Dhabi, UAE – Injazat Data Systems (Injazat) and MDC Business Management Services (MDC-BMS), along with Mubadala Investment Company’s Enterprise Technology Services division, have announced the establishing of “Project Tarabot”, a strategic Joint initiative for building a Hybrid Cloud Platform in Abu Dhabi for the Mubadala Group of Companies. The Hybrid Cloud platform will be aligned to the principle of in-country data sovereignty and will involve a Hybrid of cloud enabling platform technologies from key global vendors. Project Tarabot will not only enable over 25+ MDC-BMS’ existing clients and other Mubadala Group companies to maximize from the Hybrid Cloud Platform but also allow them to deploy new IT services faster, and expand their scope of services to the end-users in a scalable and efficient manner. Project Tarabot shall introduce a transparent consumption based model of “Pay As You Go” for the platform utilization, ease the CIOs and IT Heads from making IT related capital expenditure commitments and allow them to focus on delivering business aligned IT strategic initiatives for their respective organizations. Project Tarabot will be executed in a phased manner over 2018 and 2019. MDC-BMS will lead the IT shared service management functions on behalf Mubadala Group and transition the operational elements to Injazat and leverage the IT services thereof. In the subsequent transformation phases, the operations shall be on-boarded to the state-of-the-art Hybrid Cloud Platform that will be based on multi-tenant and scalable architecture. Eventually the platform will on board MIC Group assets and potentially extended to Abu Dhabi based Government public sector entities. Commenting on how Project Tarabot is advancing efficient technological solutions in Abu Dhabi, Khaled Al Melhi, Chief Executive Officer of Injazat, said: “Project Tarabot demonstrates how this partnership with MDC-BMS and Mubadala will foster the implementation of advanced technologies to enable organizations to function more efficiently — in terms of time, resources and finances.
