This one-of-a-kind outlet is the brainchild of the hotel’s Executive Chef Patrick Lanteigne and developed by Rachel Thomson, F&B Concept Development & Performance Manager, The First Group.

BEASTRO’s approach is to adapt the great principles of deformalized dining – around great food, approachable and engaged service, and a fun environment while combining it with very market friendly pricing.

We are using our own-branded BEASTRO stamp to brand our packages in-house. We also print our menus in-house to allow for greater flexibility and sustainability.”

BEASTRO will primarily cater to the local Barsha Heights (TECOM) market. Chef Patrick stated, “We will bring it to your table or drive it to your door. It is important that every time you come to BEASTRO, you leave wanting more, and more and more.”

The campaign was aimed at spreading awareness about the need for waste management and recycling in order to protect the environment. Dubai-based flydubai today has announced the start of flights to Shymkent in Kazakhstan (CIT). The twice a week service will be offered from 28 December 2018. flydubai has been flying to Kazakhstan since 2014 and together with the relaunched service to Shymkent and existing flights to Almaty and Astana will operate 13 weekly flights to three points in the country. Raising around AED 20m from Zayed Centennial open plates auction

The Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has revealed that its 100th Open Distinctive Number Plates Auction held yesterday at the Hilton Dubai Hotel, Al Habtoor City had fetched AED 20 million.

The the fancied dual-number plate (AA88) which raised one million 800 thousands dirhams, and (Z68), which refers the first meeting between the late Sheikh Zayed and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum at Al Sumeih to unify all Emirates on the Gulf Coast, and raised one million 400 thousands dirhams, proved a hit with clients accounting for most proceeds of the auction which has witnessed an intense competition between registered bidders representing a diverse cast of community members.

The proceeds of plates bearing Code (Z) symbolising historic milestones in the life of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, will be allocated to charitable activities in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai.

The RTA had offered 80 eye-catching plates of two, three, four and five-digits of Code J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U and X. These plates are highlighted by the six exclusive plates of Code (Z). The Auction also featured the offering of the exquisite binary plate (AA88). The six exclusive plates of Code (Z) were; (Z1918): which has a symbolic reference to the birth date of the late Sheikh Zayed. (Z1946): Refers to the year Sheikh Zayed took the reins of power at Al Ain city. (Z1968) and Z68): Bear reference to the first meeting between the late Sheikh Zayed and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum at Al Sumeih to unify all Emirates on the Gulf Coast. (Z1971): Symbolizes the establishing the UAE federation. (Z2018): Represents Zayed Centenary; which is also the Year of Zayed.

Apple Champs-Élysées to open on famed Parisian avenue this Sunday

Paris — Apple today announced its latest retail location, Apple Champs-Élysées, paying tribute to Paris’s rich history and creativity. Housed in a Haussmann-era apartment building, the inner courtyard has been transformed into Apple’s grandest Forum, dedicated to free Today at Apple sessions.
Apple offers more than 18,000 Today at Apple sessions around the world every week, focused on creative passions like photography, music, coding and design. In the first week, Apple Champs-Élysées will host sessions with popular musicians, filmmakers, animators and more.
“The energy in Paris is electric and it will be one of our premier cities for Today at Apple,” said Angela Ahrendts, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail. “I hope that everyone who visits Apple Champs-Élysées will be inspired to unlock their creative curiosity and learn something new.”
A careful blend of historic and modern architecture, the store design honors the building’s past while introducing modern spaces. The facade and entryway have been meticulously restored and the Burgundy stone of the exterior has been carried throughout the building. French oak parquet floors line the upper levels, which aim to revive the building’s original spirit by restoring the detailing and interconnected spaces of the quintessential Parisian apartment.
“Working within a historic Parisian building is a great responsibility and a phenomenal opportunity,” said Jony Ive, Apple’s chief design officer. “Our first priority was to honor the history of the building, while thoughtfully updating it to create spaces both grand and intimate. The carefully interweaving layers are warm and light filled, celebrating the timeless spirit of the city.”
Several of the design features also serve an environmental purpose. A sculptural roof light covers the courtyard, providing sunlight to the space below and generating renewable energy with integrated photovoltaic panels. An integrated rainwater collection system provides water for the bathrooms, trees and green walls. Like all of Apple’s facilities, Apple Champs-Élysées is powered by 100 percent renewable energy.
More than 330 employees, including over 100 new hires, will welcome customers when the store opens Sunday. The group represents 15 nationalities and speaks 17 languages, with more than 200 employees joining from other Apple stores in Paris and around the world. Apple Champs-Élysées opens Sunday at 12 p.m.
