0

Parenting technology and lifestyle brand Owlet has launched in the Middle east, bringing its innovative and award-winning technology to the parents for the first time. Launching with two hero products, the Owlet Smart Sock and the Owlet Cam video monitor, Owlet’s technology is already trusted by over 1.5 million parents globally, providing reassurance over the wellbeing of hundreds of thousands of babies while they sleep.

The launch of Owlet in the Middle East means parents can now benefit from the peace of mind that comes with a better understanding of their baby’s needs. With 94% of parents saying they sleep better because of Owlet, the launch is designed to help parents tap into the data-driven, holistic approach to modern parenting. That means they’ll be able to do more, relax more and sleep more with help from Owlet’s innovative technology. With Owlet you can track your baby’s heart rate, oxygen levels and sleep trends — all while streaming live video, with the Owlet Monitor Duo.

Kurt Workman, Owlet co-founder and CEO, and a father to three children, said:

“We started Owlet based on the belief that every parent should have access to the best technology to know their baby is okay, providing incredible peace of mind — and more sleep for parents — to bring more joy to the journey of parenthood. I am delighted Owlet is now available in the Middle east for the first time, as a country with high tech-adoption rates and a strong focus on health. With Owlet, I know parents and babies will sleep better and more peacefully.”

The Owlet Smart Sock and Owlet Cam are available in the UAE at Mamas & Papas, Bumble bee, Mumzworld (www.mumzworld.com), Amazon (www.amazon.ae), First Cry (www.firstcry.ae) , Elli Junior (www.ellijunior.com) Oman at Mennez and Mummy and me, Kuwait at Boy or Girl.

The Owlet Smart Sock is the first baby monitor of its kind to track a baby’s oxygen level and heart rate—the best indications of a baby’s health—while they sleep. It also comes with a sleep history feature to see how long and how well the baby slept. The Smart Sock is a complete departure from existing baby monitors through its use of pulse oximetry technology allowing parents to monitor what matters.

The Smart Sock is designed for newborns and babies up to 18 months and allows parents to track tiny infants as soon as they come home from the hospital and empowers parents to create new routines as their baby grows.

The Smart Sock also integrates seamlessly with the Owlet Cam for round the clock assurance.

The Owlet Cam was designed to be functional without sacrificing form, because Owlet believes technology should blend into our lives so seamlessly that it goes practically unnoticed until you need it.

The Cam auto-adjusts to allow parents to see their baby in the night with high-quality night vision, helping give peace of mind as parents can check on their baby during the night without losing video quality or clarity. The two-way audio feature allows parents to communicate with their babies through the Cam.

About Owlet:

Owlet Baby Care was founded by a team of parents in 2012. Owlet’s mission is to empower parents with the right information at the right time, to give them more peace of mind and help them find more joy in the journey of parenting. Owlet believes that every parent deserves peace of mind and the opportunity to feel their well-rested best. Owlet also believes that every child deserves to live a long, happy, and healthy life, and is working to develop products to help facilitate that belief.

More about the Owlet Smart Sock & Owlet Cam

Owlet Smart Sock gives peace of mind as it tracks your baby’s heart rate and oxygen level and notifies you if levels leave preset ranges. The Smart Sock sends the information to the Base Station, which glows green to let you know Baby is OK. If heart rate or oxygen levels fall outside the preset ranges, the Base Station is designed to notify you with lights and sounds. From the Base Station, the information is sent via WiFi, so you can view live readings right from your phone.

Owlet Cam helps you see and hear Baby from anywhere while monitoring the room temperature and providing sound and motion notifications. The Owlet Cam streams HD 1080p video with night vision and two-way audio to your smartphone over a secure, encrypted WiFi connection so you can hear and see your baby from anywhere. Never miss a moment with sound and motion notifications, and background audio that plays while you use your phone for other tasks.

King Faisal International Academy for Tourism & Hospitality: A New Chapter in Saudi Arabia’s Talent Development

0

Saudi Arabia has established the “King Faisal International Academy for Tourism & Hospitality and Royal Services” through a collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and the King Faisal Charitable Foundation. The memorandum of understanding was signed during the Saudi Tourism Forum in Riyadh with the goal of developing talent and empowering Saudi nationals to become leaders in the hospitality industry. The academy is set to become a major supporter of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy and enhance various sectors including tourism, recreation, education, and more. The academy will offer academic programs designed to enhance the growth of the tourism and hospitality industry, with accredited programs by leading international institutions to qualify the new generation to compete globally.

Experts consider Saudisation, government-backed targets to hire more locals, as a divisive topic in hospitality. While everyone agrees that employing more Saudi locals is beneficial, some argue that hiring based on targets rather than talent is not the right approach. The experts suggest that localisation efforts should be intensified not to reach a bigger number but to create additional inspiring stories for young hoteliers. During the first-ever Hospitality3.0 Conference, four leaders in hospitality, F&B, and asset management discussed how to attract and retain Saudi nationals.

Riyadh Hotels See Record Occupancy in February Since 2008

0

Data from STR, a hotel data firm, has shown that Riyadh hotels experienced a surge in February, with the highest occupancy rates recorded for any February since 2008. Occupancies reached 75.5 percent for the month, with three consecutive days at 90 percent occupancy at the beginning of the month. In addition, compared to 2019 levels, ADR and RevPAR also increased, with ADR up 23.4 percent to SAR801.46 and RevPAR up 65.3 percent to SAR605.06.

Despite the positive growth, the high pricing of Saudi hotels has come under scrutiny. Many young Saudis cannot afford to stay in high-end hotels, with 73 percent of Gen Z Saudis citing high costs as a significant barrier to travel within the country, according to a report from Knight Frank. The report highlights the need for more budget-friendly options in the country, as Saudi nationals frequently travel within the Kingdom, but are deterred by the high costs. The survey conducted by Knight Frank, in partnership with YouGov, involved 498 Saudi households.
